Pre-cuts Countdown Chain in Santa Claus Lane

Christmas fabrics are some of my very favorite to collect and use. They are bright, happy, and make me smile. This latest collection by Melissa Mortenson called Santa Claus Lane for Riley Blake Designs is no exception. In my house, pink and aqua are Christmas colors. I love the non-traditional addition to red and green. This line fits in great with my Christmas aesthetic.

A few years ago, I made each of our siblings and parents a Pre-cuts Countdown Chain by Holly Lesué. It was a really fun labor of love. Looking to the future, I also made an extra set for my kids so they could have them when they’re all grown up. I hope they want them… either way, they’ve been made while I have the energy to do so. Little did I know at the time I was making these Christmas countdown chains that we would have a surprise baby. When I saw this fabric range I knew it would make the perfect set of pre-cuts countdown chains for our daughter.

I love the metallic details sprinkled in here and there and the perfect shades of mint green and pink. Having made now probably 14 sets of countdown chains, I can say they are a favorite project to reset my creative energy. If you are interested in making your own, Holly of Maker Valley offers the pattern in her shop.
