Easter Parade Quilt in Easter Egg Hunt fabric for Riley Blake Designs

Easter. I know it’s December, but Easter. I have always LOVED Easter. It has always been my favorite holiday since I was a child. It used to be that I loved stuffed bunnies and the Easter Bunny would always bring me a new stuffed bunny every year. Enter Easter Egg Hunt fabric by Natalia Juan Abello and my squealing with delight when I saw the ADORABLE prints. I cannot even believe these bunnies are real. The colors, the florals, the bunnies, everything about this line are absolute Easter perfection, in my mind.

I knew immediately what I’d like to make with this line. Easter Parade by Kristina Brinkerhoff of Center Street Quilts. The bunnies would be the perfect setting for these cute prints, leaving enough space for them to be enjoyed without being chopped into tiny pieces.

I had a bit of a crazy idea when I was making this quilt top to add on these little fluffy bunny tails to a few of them. I chose one print and each bunny of that print got a little fluffy bunny tail. I followed Pen + Paper Patterns tutorial for her Kris Kringle hats, but modified the bunny pieces to .5″ x 1″ for the bunny tails.

I just love the added texture and element of fun these little bunny bums add to this quilt. My kids have all said this is their favorite Easter quilt (of the 2 I have HA!) and I think it’ll be a favorite for a long time to come. Easter Egg Hunt is shipping to stores this month and you can look for it at your favorite local quilt shop, or online shop.
