#jensfillerblocks Patchwork Heart

image

I saw this block popping up on Instagram a ton, but there were no instructions that I could find to make it for my sampler.

Background:
(10) 1.5″ x 1.5″ squares
(2) 1.5″ x 4.5″ rectangles
(2) 1.5″ x 6.5″ rectangles

Print:
(14) 1.5″ x 1.5″ squares

Mark a line down the center of 8 of your background squares. Choose 8 of your prints and sew one background square on top of each on the line that you drew. Trim 1/4″ away from your line and press these into 1.5″ half square triangles. You may need to trim them. Lay out your remaining print and background squares as desired.

#jensfillerblocks Woven Wonder

I’m not sure what the name of this block is, so I nicknamed it the “woven wonder”. It is SO simple to make, yet looks complicated.

White:
(4) 2 X 2"
Cut each of 4 prints:
(1) 2 X 2"
(1) 2 X 3.5"

Assemble each quarter of the block, sew it all together and trim. Make sure you lay it out first to make sure you’re “weaving” it correctly. Ask me how I know to make sure you do this step……….

#jensfillerblocks Greek Square

Greek Square

This block is just a variation on a simple churn dash block. I received a 12.5″ version for a swap and immediately knew I “needed” it in my sampler quilt as well.

White:
(2) 3 X 3″

(1) 1.5 X 11″

Corner print:
(2) 3.5 X 3.5″

Plus print:
(1) 2.5 X 2.5″

(1) 1.5 X 11″

Make 4 HSTs from the 2 corner sets. Do this by drawing a line on the wrong side of the white squares, then sewing 1/4″ away from the line on both sides. Trim to 2.5″. Sew the (2) 1.5 X 11 strips together. Cut into (4) 2.5″ squares. Assemble and enjoy!
